The Perfume Pagoda is a vast complex of Buddhist temples and shrines built into the limestone Huong Tich Mountains. It is the site of a religious festival which draws large numbers of pilgrims from across Vietnam.

08.00 Depart for the Perfume pagoda (80km from Hanoi)

10.00 Arrive at the Perfume pagoda. After a scenic hour and a half boat ride along the Yen stream and a 2 hour trek up the stairs (or you can take a cable car), you will reach the Huong Tich cave which houses the pagoda of the Perfume Vestige. Next, you’ll visit the Thien Tru pagoda or Pagoda leading to Heaven before stopping at a restaurant for lunch. After lunch, take boat trip back to the port and driver bring you back to Hanoi city at around 5.30pm.

08.00 Start the trip to the west of Hanoi to visit Duong Lam village, a purely agricultural village of the Northern Red River delta where they still preserve many a-hundred-years-old houses, some even peaking at the age of 4-500 years old, also the homevillage of 2 mighty kings; (Ngo Quyen and Phung Hung). It will be a unique experience as you walk along tiny ancient alleys; visit Mong Phu temple in the Mong Phu communal house – the only communal house whose original village entrance gate remains intact, dedicated to national heroes. Have some talks with the locals in their ancient houses by visiting the ancient houses. Enjoy your lunch with Vietnamese food at a local house.

After having lunch, continue driving to visit the Mia pagoda, that was built in the 15th century and you will admire 287 statues of all sizes, among with are famous sculpture such as the statue of Buddha in the Himalayas and the statues of the Eight Vajra Deities. Driving back to Hanoi. Tour finishes at around 5.00 pm.

8:00  Pick up at your hotel in Hanoi, spend a full day to discover Hanoi’s surrounding area and visit Thay & Tay Phuong Pagodas to learn about Vietnamese traditional architectural style, the Vietnamese Buddhism religion & a day in the life of local people outside the city of Hanoi.

12:00 Lunch at a local restaurant.

13:00 Discover a full afternoon in the silk village of Van Phuc. Taking photos & shopping there until leaving Van Phuc silk village to hotel. Finish the unforgettable trip at 17.30 at your hotel in Hanoi.

08:00 Departure to the ancient ceramic village Bat Trang, about 12 km to the north-west from Hanoi, on the edge of Red river, renowned for centuries for its products in traditional porcelain with blue decoration.

Arrive at Bat Trang at around 08:45. Visit a local market where you can shop to make offerings to the temple (flowers, fruits, incense sticks, votive papers, betel …) or to buy the ingredients to make nem ( rice papers, transparent vermicelli, black mushrooms, fragrant mushrooms …). You will also have the opportunity to get to know the Vietnamese language by meeting the locals at the market.

Then you will visit a ceramics factory specialized for antique reproduction where you can learn the ceramic production process and know the life and work of young workers.

Continue discovering the ancient village of Bat Trang by traveling through narrow lanes, with many workshops and family temples. Visit the temple dedicated to the Mother Protector of the village where you can practice offerings and burn votive paper as the Vietnamese do. Stop in a small workshop of young painters who decorate vases by hand and meet a family that produces small paintings on ceramics. You will also go to greet a family where you will have the opportunity to admire a beautiful courtyard decorated with original way by the broken ceramics gathered in the village. Then visit the old town hall dedicated to the Genius Protector of the village and the centennial oven “Lo Bau”. At last, you can watch the demonstration of a craftsman who can turn a piece of clay into many different products with his very capable hands. You can, if you wish, try crafting something of your very own.

You will be welcomed by one familly for lunch in their old house in the village.

After lunch, free time for shopping at Bat Trang ceramic market. Then continue to Bac Ninh province to visit the But Thap pagoda  (about 20 kilometers from Bat Trang village). The sanctuary will bring to visitors peace and comfort right from the gate leading to pagoda which is shaded by ancient giant banyan tree lines. The pagoda was constructed in the 13th century during the Tran Dynasty and rebuilt in the 17th century during the Ly Dynasty. This is one of the most popular pagodas in the north of Vietnam and is known as the center of Buddhism.

Step in the pagoda, passing the three-entrance gate and an eight-roof bell tower, visitors will reach the main temple complex. Inside the temple are more than 50 statues. The most remarkable is the thousand-handed and thousand-eyed Guanyin, which is described as a sculptural masterpiece of Vietnam. But Thap pagoda has been recognized as a national cultural historic relic, which makes it an important place for pilgrims and also a tourist attraction.

Transfer back to Hanoi. The tour ends at about 5 PM.

8:45  Arrive in the village and first embark on an interesting market tour. Browse from vendor to vendor to learn the daily fresh ingredients in a typical Vietnamese meal. Purchase the offerings to worship when visiting ancestral houses. Then take a short walk from the market to the host family for a welcome drink and getting ready for the biking around this historical village.

The first stop is Dong Ngac Communal House, the grounds and architecture of which are built in the shape of a dragon, then move along to the oldest house in the village with 300 years of age of the Do family and continue at the Nguyen ancestral house given by the Ly Dynasty’s king. Passing by the oldest school in the Village built in 1921 and getting a chance to interact with the lovely pupils in the school.

10:30 Back to the host family, it is time for your private cooking demonstration under the instruction of your hospitable host. Enjoy your self-prepared dishes with the host in their lush green space with various types of flowers and trees. After lunch, transfer back to Hanoi center.

13:30 After lunch, get back on your bicycle for an afternoon excursion among the immaculately tended fields of flowers and vegetables of the nearby village of Lien Mac. Feel the slow pace of life here and chat with spontaneous friendly farmers in the field to learn their secret traditional techniques in farming.

15:30 Cycle back to Dong Ngac for catching your van back to Hanoi center.

DAY 1: HANOI – BONSAI VILLAGE – CO LE PAGODA – HAI HAU (-/L/D)

09: 30 Arrive to Nam Dinh city and start discovery Vi Khe bonsai village – the most beautiful bonsai village in Vietnam. Each shape of bonsai trees was contained by a story , such as a landed dragon, a mother is holding her baby, phoenix, horses, dog,….or the symbol Temple of literature made by tree.
10:20 Continue to visit Co Le pagoda which was built about 1000 years ago under Ly dynasty. This pagoda was rebuilt in 1902 with Gothic designs outside.
11: 30 Enjoy the Lunch in Local Ph? C? Nam ??nh – Test the noodle soup a famous noodle in Vietnam.

12h30: Transfer to Hai Hau District, Relax on bus.
Visit The home host is an antique collector man who has more than 30 years in antiquities. You also can see some antiquities which‘s made from some centuries ago.

14:00 We will cycle around the Village and visit Pham Phao cathedral and Traditional trumpet making Brass village. On the way you will also see House Bridge was Building in 16th century with unique architecture. Explore of the daily life of local people and understand about the ancestor worship village

18:00 Visit Pham Phao Church and explore the day of Catholics People and understand about the life style of living in the land of Church

19h00: Enjoy Traditional music show – was performing by local people.

09h30: Arrival Xuan Thuy National Park – check in the Boat, visit the National park – A Ramsa complex and explore the traditional job of Clam, understand about the Clam process growing. Plan a tree of Su Vet and hearing about the environment change of climate.
11h30: Check in the Clam Hut. Free and Enjoy a special lunch on Clam Hut with Seafood.
14h30: Start to return the Land. Transfer back to Hanoi.

Itinerary (in the morning )

08:00 Depart from hotel. Leave behind the hustle & bustle of the city to the outskirt where a small village locates, on the left bank of the Red river- Bac Bien Village
08:20 Arrive in local guide (Dan)’s house. Welcomed coffee, tea and snacks. Tour guides give a briefing session and self-introduction and about his village, tour, bikes.
08:50 Start pedaling through small alleys of Bac Bien village to the Duong river’s bank. Then take a local boat ferry to cross the river to its left bank .
Ride a bike along the dike, from villages to villages, where we can see many traditional typical houses; pagodas, temples, local market and be caught in the beautiful rice paddy fields, gardens of vegetables and corns.
Pedal up to a dike of the Red river, cross 2 villages outside of the dyke. We come in a local house in traditional style, have a conversation with the villagers to understand more about their lives, works. Cycling on the dyke along the Red river, we will see the meeting point of 2 rivers. We stop under an old tree by the river for drinks, snacks, and photos. Heading back to the ferry. Crossing the Duong river by ferry again.
Stop by a local temple, which is located by the Red river. By good luck, we have a chance to see a unique ceremony of Vietnamese people –“ Len Dong” or “ Going into a trance”. This ceremony is very interesting, and unique to foreigners.
Have a drink with a family in the village to know more about their life, and the changes of the village & surrounding area.
At around 12.30 take a taxi or car back to hotel

08:00 You will be met up with our English-speaking guide at our bike store. He will give a short briefing about the bikes such as how to change the speed drivetrain (there are 24-speed drivetrain). He also give information about the biking trail you can try to test our bikes riding for some rounds before starting your outdoor adventure.  Begin your day tour by cycling along the Red River dyke, taking the Long Bien bridge, formerly known as the Paul Doumer Bridge – was one of the greatest engineering accomplishments of the French colony and a showpiece of colonial infrastructure.

After crossing the Red River, you continue riding along the dyke for some kilometers before joining a small biking trail that furrows among pop corn, vegetable and fruit gardens. You mostly cycle on the back roads amidst the wild nature.

After about two hour cycling, you arrive in Bat Trang village, a small village in the north of Viet Nam, is about 13 kilometers southeast of Hanoi center, on the other side of the Red River. The village is famous for ceramic and pottery products of high quality.

Lunch will be provided in a local restaurant in town.

After lunch, you will have a short walk to visit the village, discovering the village ceramic market, the Bat Trang temple, Bat Trang communal house. Discover the real life as you walk through tiny alleys that furrow continuously right and left.

Before taking the ride back, you stop by a local workshop where you learn all the steps of making a pottery. You have the opportunity to make your own pottery before saying good bye your “teacher” and enjoy two more hour cycling back to Hanoi. Those are not fond with the ride back can take a car to get back to your hotel. Trip ends.
