DAY 1: HANOI - PU LUONG (-/L/D)

07:30 Departure from your hotel to Pu Luong. On the way, stop for visiting the Holy Fish stream, a fascinating destination in Cam Thuy district, Thanh Hoa province. The place is well known with a unique and particular type of fish that often swims densely in the stream. It is called the Holy Fish due to many mystical stories on these special creatures.

You enter Pu Luong Nature Reserve by road via a breathtaking mountain pass giving you a panoramic view of the whole valley. You arrive at your accommodation in time for a delicious lunch, followed by free time to explore the beautiful retreat, with its captivating panoramic views and tranquil setting.

In the afternoon, you will be transfered to a suspension bridge over the Cham River, where you begin your walk in search of stunning water wheels. Get up close to each wheel and discover how water is moved from river to handmade bamboo aqueducts via simple constructions of all sizes. You can enjoy rafting on Cham river . Transfer back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2: PU LUONG – NINH BINH (B/L/-)

Breakfast. Start early to descend into the beautiful valley facing the Retreat where you walk around tumbling rice terraces. Trek through small paths shrouded in vegetation to slowly reveal a picturesque village sitting at the base of a towering mountain. Your camera will not be able to sit still!

Continuing to the base of the valley, you weave between roads and farmland, villages and wild fields, ponds and rivers, mountains and open land. Savour the ever-changing scenery as you trek to a beautiful spot. Then you will be transfered back to your hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, transfer to Ninh Binh.

On the way, stop to visit to the Citadel of the Ho Dynasty, recognized as a World Cultural Heritage by the UNESCO,  situated at Vinh Loc district, Thanh Hoa province. It was the capital of Vietnam from 1398 to 1407. The citadel of the Ho Dynasty is considered as the only stone citadel remaining in Southeast Asia and is one of the few remaining in the world.

Then continue to Ninh Binh, passing through the beautiful landscape with immense pineapple plantations. Arrive in Ninh Binh at about 6PMDinner by your own. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 3: NINH BINH – HANOI (B/L/-)

After breakfast, you will enjoy an easy biking tour (about 4 km) through rural villages, limestone rocks and impressive rice towards Bich Dong and Thung Nham. You will have the opportunity to admire a magnificent panorama view of the region that is considered the Halong Bay on land. Then back to Tam Coc . A rowboat ride on a small river through 3 caves that give you the impression of being in a magical space. Lunch in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, transfer to Hoa Lu, the capital of Vietnam for 41 years under the Dinh and Le dynasties (between 968 and 1009), to discover beautiful shrines dedicated to the Emperor Dinh and Le, the first ruler to unify the country. Aside from this important historical site, this region is also worth a visit for its rolling hills and picturesque rocky landscapes.  

Transfer back to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi at about 5 PM.
