After breakfast, set off around 08:00 to explore the sacred Phnom Kulen Mountain, located about 40km north of Angkor Wat. Known as the birthplace of the ancient Khmer Empire, Phnom Kulen holds deep spiritual significance — it was here that King Jayavarman II declared independence from Java in 802 AD.
Drive through the lush countryside and ascend the mountain, stopping at a modern pagoda offering panoramic views of the Angkor plains. Visit the eight-meter-long reclining Buddha statue carved into the rock and cleanse your spirit at the Linga River, where holy waters flow over thousands of stone carvings.
Continue to the Waterfall of Phnom Kulen, a refreshing natural site where you can swim or simply enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by jungle serenity. If time permits, wander off the beaten path with your guide to explore quiet forest trails and ancient relics.
Tonight, share dinner with a local family and experience an overnight stay in a traditional village atop the mountain — a memorable glimpse into rural Cambodian life.

Descend the mountain and return to Siem Reap, stopping en route to visit the exquisite Banteay Srei Temple, renowned for its delicate pink sandstone carvings depicting scenes of Hindu mythology. Continue to Preah Dark Village and Banteay Samre Temple, known for its grand design and intricate bas-reliefs of Vishnu and Krishna.
