Tay Ninh – Cu Chi Tunnels (full day)

Located 90 kilometres (north-west of Saigon) in Tây-Ninh Province is the Caodaist Holy See. At the centre of this city stands the Great Divine Temple. This Holy See, like the religion, is a fusion of world influences. As well as being a major centre of pilgrimage, the Caodaism Holy See is also one of Vietnam’s major tourist attractions.

08:00 : You will be picked up at your hotel . Leave busy Saigon for the Caodaist Holy See at Tay Ninh province . Participate to the ritual ceremony at Midday at the Holy See. Believers worship God the Father, Holy Mother, and the Divine Beings with all their heart. They also venerate the Great Religious Prophets of history and honour the ancestors. Prayers include incense offering, ceremony opening, prayer to the God the Father, prayer to Buddha, prayer to Thái Thượng Lão Quân of Taoism, prayer to Confucius, one of the three jewel offering prayers (flower, wine, and tea), and the five pledges.

In the afternoon, continue to the tunnels of Cu Chi, where are an immense network of connecting underground tunnels that are located in the Cu Chi district of Saigon, and are part of a much larger network of tunnels that underline much of the country. On our way there we drive through pleasant countryside; rubber plantations and rice paddies. At the Cu Chi tunnels, you will see a short introductory video showing how they were constructed, followed by an exploration of the maze of tunnels, some of which have been widened to allow tourist access. Also on display are various mantraps and the remains of an American tank, as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500lb bombs, dropped by B52 bombers. After that transfer back to Saigon. Back to your hotel at around 18.00
