Originally Tonkin travel planner Nga Duong proposed more days and locations than we wanted, but Nga shortened the trip to 14 days. And then we wanted to start in Cambodia and finish in Hanoi. Nga arranged that as well. We chose the 4-Star hotels option and were so impressed by the accommodations. Beautiful, very comfortable hotels and excellent food, breakfast included. Starting months in advance, email communication continued to be seamless. Nga even came to our Hanoi hotel to meet us, which was a marvelous, unexpected surprise. She helped us connect with drivers/guides before we arrived at each airport. The drivers were all very skilled. In particular Mr. Ngoc (Ruby), who picked us up late at night from the Hanoi Airport and took us to our hotel, is an excellent driver. He also took us to our overnight cruise on Ha Long Bay and returned to take us back to Hanoi the next day. Then he took us back to the airport the following day. Very professional. All the guides are very knowledgeable, flexible and helpful. And they took great photos of us at the sites! Special mentions of our Phnom Penh guide Thorn; Siem Reap/Angkor guide Khann (great sense of humor); Hoi An, Da Nang and Hue guide Huy; and Brian, our Hanoi backstreets, egg coffee, train street guide (so fun). The lunch meals while we toured gave us a tasty sampling of local foods. The connections with local residents were highlights. We will be talking about this trip for a long time.
